A Bit About Dr. Nguyen
I dreamt of becoming a doctor at a very young age. I have always had this inherent desire to help people and felt like becoming a doctor was the way to achieve that goal. My interest in natural medicine was something I didn't realize was always a part of my childhood and adolescence until I heard about naturopathic medicine in my early adulthood. I am native to the greater Seattle area and I was able to follow my passion and stay local to pursue my goals first by way of the University of Washington where I got my bachelors in biology then eventually obtaining my Naturopathic Doctorate education at Bastyr University. After graduation, I joined a private practice where I was able to build to a busy, full time schedule.
My philosophy has always been to first and foremost treat each person with respect. My main goal as a practitioner is to provide a supportive, inclusive environment that cultivates a patient’s active engagement in their health by having active discussions about their treatment options. By educating and informing my patients, I believe they are able to take a more active role in their health journey. I also understand that not everyone has the means and resources (whether its time, finances, support, etc) and I honor what patients are willing to do for their own health and support my patients by meeting them where they are at. However, I do have the expectation that patients must be accountable in reaching their own health goals. I can be supportive with tools and information, but it is ultimately the patient that has control over their healing process.
I support all patients with general preventative primary care. However, a large bulk of my practice is focused on women's health and digestive health. I have worked with women at many phases of their life from puberty to menopause. I have supported women through various conditions such as PMS, cycle regulation, PCOS and menopause. I utilize conventional standards of practice as well as supplements, herbal medicines and hormone therapy to help support optimizing health. I also support patients who have issues with nutritional deficiencies, IBS, SIBO, reflux and other digestive complaints. I incorporate health education and prevention and strive to optimizing the foundations of health with all my patients as I believe that more successful outcomes happen when my patients have a strong foundation to build on.
I've lived in West Seattle for the last few years and fell in love with the area and wanted to work closer to home and serve my local community. I look forward to becoming a part of your health care team!
